MID BACK, NECK AND UPPER ARM PAIN

I have been dealing with this pain in my arms for years now.  I was in an automobile accident 9 years ago, but I'm not sure if it has relation to my problem.  I noticed the arm pain about 4 years after my accident.  However, the pain is not consistent.  I can go months without any pain and poof without warning, the pain is back.  It is hard to describe the pain in my upper arms.  If I put pressure on the site of pain, it still doesn't dull the pain but it also doesn't bother me to apply the pressure.  The pain is primarily where my upper arm meets my shoulders on both arms.  I almost always have a stiff neck.  When I get my husband to massage it, the pain shoots from my neck into my arms.  But like I said before, the pain is not constant but at times I can go weeks without any relief.  Also, recently I had to get rushed to the hospital because I couldn't walk because of severe mid back pain.  When I would try to stand straight, my muscles would spasm.  This was a little over a week ago.  Since then, my mid back is still tender but the dreadful pain in my arms is back.  I have been to a neurologist and my general practictioner.  Both cannot find a significant problem on why I am having so much pain.  I have had extensive blood work, x-rays, MRI's and CAT scans to no avail.  I fell hopeless.  I don't know what else to do.  Do you have any suggestions or any idea on what can be causing me all this pain?  Any information will be much appreciated.
