MINIMAL WHIE MATER CHANGES ?

MINIMAL WHIE MATER CHANGES ?

On my MRI results, my neurologist stated that everything was normal, but the report said "minimal nonspecific white matter changes in essentially unremarkable MRI".
Could this amount to anything ? I am male 37 years old.

Lightwise, didn't I read somewhere on here that you are suffering from Lyme disease?  If so, from what I read white matter changes are common with this disease, also with MS, vasculitis, migraines, etc....   I hope that you feel better!!  Good luck!!!

Are you still having the same symptoms that your previous posts indicate?

I was wondering, are your facial symptoms pretty much there all of the time? I had some really weird facial and right sided feelings happening (not numb but almost like a pulling feeling in my muscles). I kept freaking out and did not stop until I had a cervial and brain MRI. I was told by a neurosurgen that was recommended by Cleveland Clinic that I had arnold chiari type 1 malformation. Of course, more freaking out! I was told, however, that mine was not bad and it could be seen from the MRI that I had more than enough room for CSF to move around. In other words, this was not causing my symptoms. Even though, I still had the feelings and it was literally driving me crazy.

A nice guy from this website suggested massage therapy after a posted a question about the possibility of anxiety causing my symptoms. I did it and it helped but, the feelings were still there. It was very scary.

I finally read some stuff on vitamin deficiency. I decided that even though it may be a long shot, I would try taking some additional vitamins. Specifically, calcium and magnesium. You would not believe how much better I feel!!!! The facial and right sided feelings are gone!

I really don't know what you have tried but I thought that maybe I would throw the idea your way. It certainly helped me and we seem to have had the same facial stuff going on.

Hopefully, you are already feeling better and do not even need this idea!!!

And, sorry! Not trying to start new post or take away from the initial question. Just saw your name here and wanted to let you know of something that may help.

Hi, don't have to apologize for posting.  I am glad that you did, it really means aot that you would take your time and try to help someone else.  My neuro put me on Metanx (b-12), orally, I took it for a while.  It seemed for the first few weeks the facial stuff was probably 80% gone, then as I continued to take it, I started to feel like my toes were numb, not all the time, but enough to freak me out. So I stopped taking it.  I go back to see her at the end of April.  I have tried calcium/magnesium/zinc combo, it didn't seem to help.  But maybe I wasn't taking enough.  How much did you take of each?  I have had these feelings for 6 years now, they are so annoying.  I know what you say when you talk about the "pulling" sensation.  Mine feels like that sometimes also, and sometimes a pressure feeling.  Thanks so much for trying to help, I will try anything to make this go away.

I take approximately 150 mg of magnesium (along with calcium and vitamin D) and 1000 mcg of B-12 per day. Regarding the magnesium, I could take more but I wanted to start out slow with it. Fortunately, I started feeling the results at that dose so I'm sticking with it. My eating habits are not the best in the world but I never thought that vitamins would help this kind of problem. I am still really surprised about it.

Hope that this helps you! I know what it is like to sit around and worry about it. It is the strangest feeling and I always felt like I could not describe it accurately. Believe me, you are not alone with this. Eventually, things will work out. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for your advice Jenny. A lot of my symptoms are now subsiding. It's confusing for me because I sometimes don't know if a symptom is caused by Lyme or the anxiety. As I said before Lyme causes anxiety and panic attacks in many people. Then , anxiety starts to create it's own physical symptoms. Crazy ! Anyway, I am on a good amount of nutritional support stuff plus my herbs and two antibiotics to kill the lyme bacteria. Thanks for caring Jenny : )
