can anyone help me understand this?

1.  Abnormall low T2 signal is seen within the discs at L3-S1.

1.Small to moderate-sized left paracentral HNP at L3-L4 and L4-L5, impinging on the left L4 and left L5 nerve roots respectively.

Boy, I'm guessing (educated) here.  #1 - I don't know the significance of this finding.

#2.  I believe HNP stands for Herniated Discus Pulposus - I think they are referring to a herniated (squished out) disc from between the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrea.  This is pressing on the nerve roots as they leave the spinal canal to send/receive messages from the legs.

Let me guess, you are having low back pain or left leg pain or weakness.

There will likely be others that can shed more light here.
