Thanks. Glad to hear your story and how it turned out. I didn't expect the results but I felt better like I thought she might be telling em what she thought. Maybe it was in my head.
Techs that do xrays, mammograms, MRI's CT's CAT's etc are bound by professonal ethics for one, I don't think that they're really supposed to divulge that type of information to a patient. They like to leave it to the radiologist and physician to deliver the news. If they should say something and it turns out to be incorrect, there's always that slim chance of a lawsuit.
I had an issue when my Mom was still living. My aunt asked a technician the results of tests that my Mom had done and the technician of course responded with saying that my Mom's lung cancer had returned. Hearing this news I was beside myself and my aunt neglected to tell me that it was the technician who had told her. Imagine this though, when she asked the Oncologist about the test results, he concurred. After weeks of thinking that my Mom's cancer was no longer in remission and facing the fact that I might lose her, my aunt was called back and told the doctor wanted to discuss some very important news with her and my Mom. I found out that not only had the technician made a mistake about the results but also the Oncologist and my Mom did NOT have a recurrance of cancer. The mental anguish that they all put my Mom and family through was inexcuseable to me and I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. It was a time that I felt very threatened that my Mom was really going to die and I had a very difficult time trying to concentrate on my own daily existence and attending school was unbearably hard. I can't imagine the anguish that my Mom went through hearing that all over again.
I say to you that your technician did the right thing by not saying anything.
Try not to stress over the waiting time for the results. Even once you receive them, ask as many questions as you can about the interpretation of the results. I've found that so many patients are given the results without explanations and that's evidenced by the number of posts here asking for help to interpret them, myself included. I got more answers later with the neurologist and orthopedic doctor but I had to push for them.

I'll add that the same day I saw my eye doctor and he checked out everything in my eye and saw no swelling or signs of anything.
