If I was told I needed to get an MRI to see if I had a Vestibular Schwannoma, what type of MRI do I need to get? My head, spine, neck etc?

Hi there. Contrast enhanced CT will detect almost all of the acoustic neuromas and the ones projecting into the cerebellopontine angle. Tumors which are smaller can be detected by MRI with gadolinium enhancement.  Audiology and vestibular tests are done to test hearing. Hope this helps. Consult your neurosurgeon for best advice. Take care.

Hi, did you get this done yet?  Since you posted in December, I would think it is done.

How did you make out?

I had a Vestibular Schwannoma removed 10/29/09.   Let me know if I can answer any questions.
