MRI results--neck

by dumplin48, Oct 17, 2007 07:55PM
Yikes!  My left thumb went numb weeks ago and didn't get better.  I went to my Dr.  He ordered an MRI.  Here are the results.  1. C5-C6 disc osteophyte complex with broad based left paracentral and foraminal disc protrusion effacing the ventral thecal sac and mildly deforming the ventral left hemicord.  There is moderate left foranimal narrowing.  2. C6-C7 disc osteophyte complex with moderate central canal narrowing and moderate ventral cord deformity, especially towards the left.  Moderate bilateral foraminal narrowing.  What does all this mean.  I have to wait one whole month to see the Dr. and he is a PA.  I'm worried.

Basically, it means you have buldging disks that are pushing on the spinal cord and compressing nerves.  I had this too and I had to have surgery.
