MRI results

by elmerfudd13, Sep 27, 2008 06:19AM
1. No acute findings are identified. Specifically, there is no evidence of mass effect or midline shift. There are no abnormal extraaxial fluid collections. There is no abnormal enhancement on the postcentrast sequences. There is no evidence of restricted diffusin on the diffusion-weighted sequence to suggest an acute ischemic event.

2. There is a small amount of increased periventricular T and FLAIR signal which is nonspecific but most likely related to chronic small vellel ischemic change. There are also scattered foci of increased T2 and FLAIR signal within the deep white matter tracks of the cerebral hemispheres bilaterally. Once such focus extends laterally from the body of the right lateral venticle. There is no enhancement at this location on the post contrast sequences to suggest an acute process.

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
Your findings of MRI are non specific. There are some ischemic changes in the brain which can be a result of chronic headaches like migraine, chronic smokers, alcoholism, and high BP and diabetes.
Does any of this sound familiar to you?
