M.S. / typical migrains

After twelve years and three Doctors I was told I had M.S. I chose a new Doctor who is associated with our hospital, and has M.S. himself.  After our first visit and going over my paperwork.  He said he did not think I had M.S. at all but I had A Typical migrains.  He showed me my MRI and that there were white spots on it too, but he said they are not the same as that ao a brain with M.S.  Can this be right?

An MRI of the brain, if you have one, does indeed have a particular look to it.  But you might ask him what does he think the spots are on your spinal MRI...could be you have some other spinal abnormality that is causing symptoms.  Also, the proof is in the pudding, if he can give you a medicine that will make your "atypical migraine" go away, and if any other symptoms tend to get better, well, there you go.  MS is hard to diagnose, but there are steps that lead to the diagnosis, and assuming you have had those, you can also ask the doc what do THOSE tests mean if they don't point to MS.  You just need reassurance that he is correct.  My neurologist has Restless Legs and he takes a diff medicine than I do for it, but thank goodness I got mine before he got his, becuz no way does that medicine work for me, cuz I tried it.  So, it's possible he may be incorrect, and I've given you the ways to find out if what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
