MS Concern???

I am a 37 year old female who has had a few bouts of weird symptoms like tingling (feels like a light band around my upper back near where a bra strap would be),  Also some tingling and weakness in the arms and legs and another sensation of intermittant skin sensitivity.  Sometimes when I touch my skin it feels cold and painful to touch (but I know it's my fingers that are misreading the "coldness" because if I touch that same part of my body with an elbow or forearm it doesn't hurt).  I have seen a neurologist and had a brain and cervical MRI.  They were neagtive except a small white spot of "matter" that was "inconsequential".  I had this about 2 years ago and now it is back again.  Any thoughts???

When you mention that your skin hurts around your bra strap and you touch your skin in other places, and it's cold and painful to touch have you had a mammogram and a total breast check up my your doctor.  I hope you don't have any further MS symptoms but please have a mammogram.

Hi,

I am a 35 yr female.I have been dealing with this for a little less than a year. I was dx with Tranverse myelitis and complcated migraines with aura.My TM is now refered to as CIS(clinically isolated syndrom) I have 15 brain lesions and am now heading towards a possible MS dx.

The banding you discribe sounds like  the Chest Hug.It is common in MS and TM.Also the skin sensitivity (Allydonia). I experience these too.I have times where my symptoms are minimal and others where they are screaming at me. I seem to sort of relaspe and remit. You could be doing the same thing if you have felt normal for the past 2 years.

Unfortunatly you can have MS and not have lesions in the beginning. My lesions are not typical of MS but it could not be ruled out.

I think it's time for you to go back to the Neurologists. You should repeat the MRI's and have other tests done. Possibly an Lumbar puncture and Evoked responses. Also it might not hurt to see a Rheumatologists.Sometimes neurological issues can be caused by diseases like Lupus or other autoimmune nasties.

My doctor and I discussed the benfits of starting the DMD's(disease modifying drugs) early with MS. I go back and see him in 2/10 to figure out if I need to start them or not.
If you do unfortunatly have MS the sooner you start the DMD's the better.

Please Take Care, Theresa

I hope you get some answers....
