MUSCLE TWITCHES/MUSCLE ACHES

  HELP!!  I STARTED HAVING MUSCLE TWICHES 2 WEEKS AGO OUT OF THE BLUE.  I HAVE THEM EVERY WHERE, EVEN MY TONGUE, BUT THEY ARE MAINLEY WHEN I AM RESTING.  I HAVE A APPT. WITH NEURO NEXT FRIDAY BUT I AM SCARED.  I HAVE BEEN SEEING A NEURO FOR HEADACHES THAT I HAVE HAD FOR TWO YEARS.  THIS IS MY NEW SYMPTON.  I ALSO HAVE PAINFUL MUSCLE SPASMS IN MY LEGS AND GENERAL STIFFNESS IN MY BODY.  NO WEAKNESS THAT I NOTICE AT ALL.  HELP.  I AM SO VERY SCARED ABOUT THESE TWITCHES! I AM TWENTY EIGHT YEARS OLD AND I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HYPOTHYROID 2 MONTHS AGO AND I HAVE BEEN ON SYNTHROID 25MG ONCE A DAY AND THEY RECHECK ON MY THYROID CAME BACK GOOD.  HELP!  PLEASE!  THANK YOU.

Muscle twitches are associated with a weide variety of neurological and
non-neurological conditions.
Generally they are only of serious significance if the come on gradually
( as opposed to the sudden onset in your case ) and are asociated with
relentlessly progressive weakness  and wasting of muscles.
I cannot say what is causing your problems on the basis of a brief message
but given your age, the sudden onset and the absence of associated
weakness I think it is unlikely that these will turn out to be due to any
serious underlying pathology.
The best way to absolutely confirm the absence of a seriousd underlying
problem would be by performing an EMG examination.
It is possible that these have been sparked off by excessive replacement
of thyroid hormone so this should be rechecked.
