Magnetic & Infra-red help reducing Pain?

  Do you have any information on why magnetic or infra-red products help to
  reduce pain and nausia?  My wife Joyce was DXed 27 years ago with MS and
  was really going down hill fast.  A nurse told me she was in the final stages
  of MS.  That was less than one year ago.  I put her on these magnetic
  and infra-red products and she has done a 100% turnaround.  She is swimming
  twice a week and recovering.  The distributors told me they would work but
  not how they work?  I was wondering do you or can you elaborate?
  I would appreciate any and all information.  There is a book by Dr.Julian
  Whitaker, titled, "The Pain Relief Breakthrough"  but I can't seem to find
  it.  In it he claims over 80 studies done that prove the health benefits
  of magnets?
  What are they?

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any conventional medical studies or literature that would support the use of such devices to treat pain or that would explain how they might work, other than by placebo effect (which has a well proven success rate of at least 15%!!!) Sorry!!!
