Maxillary nerve paresthesia after upper anterior tooth extraction

by Dromsdds, Jul 24, 2008 08:09PM
I am an oral surgeon and I have treated a patient for gross oral disease by doing multiple extractions on the upper jaw.  The extractions were atraumatic, minimal tissue damage was imparted, and the patient had her upper denture delivered at that time.  The patient presented to me several weeks later, complaining of persistent numbness in the distribution of the left maxillary nerve, including the inferior eyelid.  I could not find any literature on the web and wanted to know whether you knew any cases similar to this one.

Thank you.
