Maybe Anxiety? Please help!

Maybe Anxiety? Please help!

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley, and im 22 years old. For the past few years i've been feeling "weird". I have been reading all different forums over and over again, and i am amazed that so many people feel the same as I do. Knowing that i am not alone is very relieveing. I am not glad that we all have these problems, but i think its great that people make these forums and we can all talk to each other and help one another. Thats just amazing. Reading these have made me feel some - what better but only for a little while, im guessing because it helps calm me down during a panic attack. Which im hopeing that thats all i have hopefully. Describing what i feel is a little difficult but i will try my best. My symptoms i guess would be that [ I FEEL WEIRD, LIKE IM IN A DREAM OR SOMETHING LIKE NOTHING IS REAL, I FEEL DISCONECTED FROM THE WORLD AND MY BODY AND MIND, I FEEL LIKE IM GOING CRAZY OR GOING TO DIE, MY EYES ALSO FEEL WEIRD SOMETIMES LIKE I CANT FOCUS AND IF I TRY THEY SEEM TO GET A LITTLE BLURRY AND IM SO SCARED THAT I MIGHT GO BLIND EVEN THO I KNOW YOU CANT UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD TRAUMA TO THEM, I FEEL SHAKEY (shaky), SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE WHAT IF IM NOT REALLY DOING WHAT I THINK I AM FOR EXAMPLE THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS IF YOUVE EVER SEEN FAMILY GUY PETER THINKS HES EATING CHICKEN LEGS BUT REALLY HES EATING LOIS'S HAIR, THAT MIGHT SOUND DUMB BUT ITS THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK OF. IM NOT AT ALL SUICIDAL, I CANT BE ITS ONE OF MY BIGGEST FEARS, I JUST DONT WANT TO LOSE IT ONE DAY AND HURT SOMEONE I LOVE, ALTHOUGH I THINK AND HOPE ITS NOT POSSIBLE. I really cant be weird anymore i have a job and i just had a baby i have people who i love so much to take care of that need me. Ive been to the doctor and told him whats up and he said its just anxiety and prescribed me paxil but i didnt take it because im afraid to take pills or any medication for that matter. The only thing ive ever taken was my prenatal vitamins. When I was pregnant i felt great no anxiety or anything, but unfortnatly its back. Ive also gotten an MRI because i was haveing some really bad things happen like my right arm would go numb along with my face and tounge and i would lose my periphial vision for about 10 min. but ive ruled that out as occular migrianes. Ive also been to a psychologist and he told me that he really couldnt tell me anything to help because i was already doing everything. Like excersing and breathing techniques. I havent had ANY caffine in about two and a half years. On my days off im going to get my blood taken and ask to see if i have any vitamin (b12,d, etc.) defficiencys also iron defficint, maybe hypoglycemic, and also i guess (as ive read) maybe lyme diesase? Its not ms or a tumor but ill find out one day what it is? If any one could help please comment back. Ive read other similar post on my symptoms but there all from 2006 and what not, im hopeing to get some updated info.

Thank you very much, and i hope one day we can all live stress free, happy and 'NORMAL'! lol

Oh and P.S. Im not a dieabetic.

Hi, Ashley

I am so sorry for all the stuff happening to you. I am not a doctor but I do think that the first course of action is to go back to your doctor and be firm. Ask him/her to organise appropriate tests for everything. Neither you nor I know whether a small physical problem is making you feel like this. In all fairness, you need, for your own peace of mind, to eradicate any physical cause. Tell your doctor that. Tell him all your fears of what this may be.
Then, if everything comes back O.K., you know it's some kind of anxiety/emotional problem.
The psychologist was 0% helpful. That is not the way to treat anyone. If you do need emotional help then make sure to be referred to an expert who can then set up some psychotherapy.
No-one likes taking meds but people who have to take it, like diabetics, do so whether they like it or not.
If you are offered meds, please try them. It's not forever, just to help you over a hump in the bridge.
Most important, don't be your own doctor, go and see the doctor. He/she gets paid to sort you out - and has studied  for many years to arrive thus far. Take care. Take action. love and hugs.
