Memory loss

Memory loss

Hi. My name is Bobby and I'm 28 years old.  I didn't know where to put this question so I am hoping for the best.

I have had problems in the past with my memory.  I am forgetting things that are told to me just days ago.  This has not been a real problem in the past until now.  I work for an A/C company and am having a real hard time remembering SIMPLE things that are being taught to me.  I can't remember the places that I have been much less the customers names and addresses.  It is really beginning to scare me.  I can't seem to obtain information from a book that I just read yesterday.  I will read the information for a whole week and still won't remember what I just read.  I lose track of what I'm doing and will have to call for help.  I am in fear of my job and what this is going to do for my family.  This may seem like nothing until you experince it first hand.
Is there some type of program or medicine that I can take that will help me in this situation?

Hi,
How are you feeling?
Since how long you are having this problem? Have seen a neurologist or psychologist so far? Have you consulted any doctor for this problem? If yes, what they have to say about this?
I think you should discuss with your PCP regarding a drug called Aricept. This should be started only on prescription of your treating physician. It is used for treatment of Alzheimer’s, but is helpful for short term memory loss.
Aricept is a drug of choice to treat Alzheimer's, but its use is not restricted. It has been observed that Aricept improves cognition and function, which includes effects on memory and performing everyday tasks, hence it would have been prescribed.
The effect of memory is exerted through one such chemical called acetylcholine. This chemical helps carry messages from nerve cell to nerve cell in the brain. Memory is lost by disrupting these messages between cells.
It is thought that Aricept may help reduce the breakdown of this chemical.
Hope this helps.
Bye.
