Meningothelial Meningioma

Hi my wife (Aged 29 Years) was diagnosed with Right Frontal parasagital meningioma last year in April. She presented compliant of headache for 20 days prior to diganosis. The MR Venogram showed blocked superior sagital sinus. She underwent right frontal craniotomy and total excision with superior sagital sinus excised along with tumor. The Biopsy report showed a meningothelial meningioma.
We have been getting MRI done for last three quarters and last one in january 2007. All was normal. In the last three to four days she is complaining of similar headache.
So what are the chances of recurrence in case of a meningothelial meningioma?
What should be done now?

First of all, keep in mind that I am unable to diagnose you because I am unable to examine you, this forum is for educational purposes.
Meningothelial meningioma is a typically benign form of meningioma, and is often completly cured by surgical resection. However, there are many cases in the literature when mengiomas are classified as a benign type and then are found to be aggressive, recurrent and metastatic tumors. I suspect that the headache that your wife had was due to the venous obstruction caused by the menigioma, and recurrence of the headache might be related to further venous obstruction. Alternatively this headache may be unrelated, but I would suggest a repeat MRI to make sure. I would suggest an MRI of the brain with GAD contrast and a MRV (magnetic resonance venogram).

Another MRI would probably show if there is a re occurance.
