Mercury Contact HELP

hello. for the past 3 months i have been feeling horrible and aquired alot of symptoms over time. I contantly feel tired, extreme shortness of breath, dizzy, pressure behid my eyes and in the bridge of my nose, weight loss (12lbs in a month) and i also adapted anxiety from not knowing what is wrong with me. I have lost my appetite; it comes and goes. I have been in and out of the emergency room more than 4 times. i have been back and forth to my doctor and he cant find anything. I was researching my symptoms over the internet and came across possiblw mercury poisoning. A few years ago i came in contact with mercury from a thermometer. Not knowing what it was, i remember touching it. by the way i am only 19 so i must have been about 14 or so. My question is: Does mercury poisoning get chronic over the years? How can i know if i am affected by mercury? Is there a way to cure mercury poisoning? And if theres any other information that will help, please enlighten me.

Thank You So Much!!

No, no, not mercury poisoning.  Every kid in America who's been in a school lab has had mercury all over their fingers at one time or another.  I do not know why your doctor has not found out what's wrong with you, because the reasons for your symptoms should show up on a normal exam.  But it sounds to me like either you got a bad sinus infection or possibly your blood pressure is too high or your lungs are congested.

While pulse and blood pressure aren't always related, just check yours by pushing your fingers between the wrist bone and tendon, and see how many beats you get per minute.  It ought to be 60 to 80, and if it's over 100, could be you got high blood pressure.  If your heart rate is okay, then your nose may be stopped up, way high in the sinus cavities, to where you may not realize you got a problem.  And some people get "walking pneumonia," where they cannot breathe very well.

Go back to your doc and have him check into all those things.  Also, he should review any medications you're on, something seemingly normal can cause this.  Also, an allergy to food or the environment can do it, so think about anything different you've been consuming or if you've been too close to an air conditioner, that sort of thing.  Next time you get that anxiety feeling come over you, take some really deep breaths, it slows the heart, oxygenates you, and relaxes the body, which in turn reduces anxiety.

Hello, Thank you for your question. Generally, mercury testing is ordered by a doctor to detect exposure to mercury in people who work in industries of potentially hazardous materials. Symptoms of burning in the mouth and lungs, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, blurry vision, tingling or tremors in the arms or legs, difficulty walking and problems with hearing, taste and smell could be suggestive of excessive exposure of mercury. Blood and hair is mainly tested to detect the presence of methyl mercury. Metallic mercury can be detected in urine only. Sometimes mercury can also be present in nails, breast milk, and stool. Normal reference range of mercury in blood, urine and hair could be dissimilar in different-2 laboratory settings. Therefore, it will be best to consult a doctor for the mercury testing. Hope this information proves helpful to you. Take Care & Regards.
