Mercury Toxicity

by drscheck, Sep 14, 2009 07:10PM
As a dentist, I became disabled from a large spill of mercury in shag carpeting.  I have documented encephalopathy.  I still suffer from internal tremors.  Also some describe it as internal vibrations.  On this site, I noted several people complaining of numbness, travelling pain, pins and needles, and other neurological disorders without known etiology.  I feel many neurologiists are missing the boat.  One of my neurologists did not even know that dentists use mercury in their practice to make the common silver filling which is actually 50% mercury.  The mercury derived from this mercury-silver filling is documented by studies to be deposited in human tissue throughout the body.  Since mercury is primarily neuro-toxic and it is the most neurotoxic element known to man, it shoud be of concern.  The other issue  is that it is impossible to diagnose sub-acute mercury toxicity using classical methods such as urine or blood mercury levels.  It will usually be lower in the mercury toxic patient, and then this possibility is ruled out.
Subsequent to the mercury toxicity, I have multiple chemical sensitivities.  Last week, a pest control company used chemical in my house and I reacted badly with an exacerbation of my internal tremors.  In my Internet search, I found this site and wanted to contribute.  I must caution anyone who wants to remove fillings as there is a medical and dental hazard in doing so.  This must be done under the supervision of a physician and dentist who understand the proper protocol.  See http://www.iaomt.org/
