Migraine Associated Vertigo

What is the best preventative medication for migraine associated vertigo, bearing in mind, I get bad insomnia, jittery etc. Also, can flying worsen this condition, as my severe vertigo attacks have lasted longer since a short two hour flight, the first time I had flown in 15 years, and is this temporary (or maybe just a coincidence).

HI...I am not a dr, but I also suffer from vertigo.
Until u see ur dr, u may want to try OTC meds like drammamine (nondrowsey).

I can not say if the flight affected ur vertigo issues, but there is a difference in air pressure, so it is possible it was a trigger.

Hi I have had benign positional vertigo since 1998.  I feel asleep in front of an a/c. Had to crawl on the floor and yell for help.  Ended up in the ER and for 3 months had severe vertigo.  Its not as bad now but its an everyday thing, especially bending, sleeping and turning my head too fast.  I have been to docs and there are exercises to do.  Also I was told we have crystals in our ears and if one gets disturbed it can cause vertigo and the spinning sensation.  There is no cure.  I also have migraines with aura that can last for a day or 2.  Nothing worked until I found out that using liquid peppermint (you can get it in a health food store).  Just put some on a wet cloth and apply it to the temples.  I couldn't believe it nothing had worked for me and my migraines were severe but this worked.  Hope some of this helped, good luck.
