Migrains and heart enzymes

Migrains and heart enzymes

I am hoping to find clarification as to something I was told by an ER cardio.  I have what seems to be a mystery to them and I have seen a seperate cardio and Neuro.  I have been diagnosed with cronic (chronic) migraines.. which seem to be set off by headaches.  I have had these since I was 13 and am 34 now.  I was always told as a kid that the headaches and chest pains were just a part of growing up and to deal with it. I went to a neuro when I was 30 and they went through a whole pharmacy of medications to try to keep the migrains in check and unfortunatly.. the only thing that can stop one for me is Tordal(sp)  and even then it just brings the pain level down.  Recently I went to the ER for a migrain that wouldnt stop for almost 24 hours no matter what I took.. When I was in the er my chest started to hurt REALLY BAD.  They ran an ekg and drew blood and came back and told me that something had caused my heart to start pumping out triponin(sp) which I later learned meant that I had some sort of heart trauma.  They gave me morphine to cut the pain and admited me and ran a few tests then decided to put me under and scope me.(being the late hour the proprer words have escaped me). The test came back that the flow was slow but no blockages so they sent me home.. A month or so later I was at my neuro's office with my son who has also recently started to have migrains (same age as when mine started.. just hitting puberty)  while I was in the office I was going to have them give me a shot of tordal as my headache was moving from a 6 to an 8 on a 1-10 scale.  Before we could finish the appointment they had to lay me out of the table and the migrain hit at about 12 on a 1-10 scale.. I couldnt see and the last time one hit me like that I was driving and almost passed out.  They gave me a shot of tordal and waited but it only brought it down to about a 9 and called the paramedics.  About the time that the EMTs arrived I started to have serious chest pains again and they took me to the hospital.   Aparently they didnt feel it was important becasue I was there for an hour before they drew blood and found nothing and the migrain had subsided to my normal pain level of 7.  They did an LP and said that it was fine and sent me home.  once again.. Finally this last time I had a major migrain I walked in.. told them that the last few times I had a migrain this bad my chest started to hurt.  they ran an EKG and moved me immediately to a room and ran tests and sure enough the heart enzymes were there.. aparently it was a concern because they admitted me immediately and ran through the same tests that they did when I came in for it the first time.  It was almost exactly like the first time they found them with one exception.. this time my arms started to hurt.  They gave me a shot of tordal and put me on those wonderful machines .. during the time they were monitoring me I guess I set off some alarms a couple of times (was seriously out of it due to the morphine again) each time they would run another test and find enzymes..  The ER cardio checked me out and didnt want to release me because he felt there was something going on but they didnt know what.  Another doctor came in and examined me and aparently overruled his choice and I was sent home the next day. with no further tests.  I went for a consult with the ER Cardio and he put me on medical restriction as if I was having heart problems and told me to see a DR outside of the hospital.  Upon meeting with a private Cardio he came up with the link between my migrains and my heart issues.  The Cardio felt that it had something to do with my brain sending signals to stop or slowdown my heart(or something to that effect) during the migrain episodes.  He sent me to a specialist that layed me out on a table.. hooked me up to an ekg and gave me a headache which quickly turned into a migrain.(30 mins of pure hell)  when he was done he gave me a shot of tordal and told me that he wanted to continue with the medical restriction and that he would be recommending a pacemaker(ick), he also wanted me to look into getting an AED(not sure why since when the migrains end I feel better about 2 hours later).  At this point I am tryign to figure out if they are just on a wild goose chase for something that may be simpler or if this really is an issue. on a side note when I was explaining the problem to another medical professional friend of mine he had said that he had heard of something like that but it was usually diagnosed in autopsy and that I was lucky that they found it now.  You can imagine that Im a bit freaked out by all this becasue it means that if  i got a pacemaker I would essentially have to quite both of my careers (vet tech and computer networking systems inside non-pacemaker friendly locations)  and also having to train my 14 year old son how to "save his dad" which to me is something I really dont want to burden him with at that age.   I would hope that someone could help me with any idea of what this is and if it really is something I should really be worried about.   Also my last MRI showed an "enlarged empty cella" (I think that is how it was explained, I am still looking for the paperwork from that one) that was there in a previous MRI but smaller and was not there in the next one and was there but larger in the third one.
