Mild High Functioning Autism

Mild High Functioning Autism

My fiancee` has been recently (2006) diagnosed with a case of Mild High Functioning Autism, which I do know is in the same category as Asperger's Syndrome. I know just a little, but I would like to know where I can go for further info, and what I can do to better understand his needs as well as my own. He is a very mellow person with a personality of a child at times that mixes with his adult attitude. It was very hard for me to detect his autism since he has not had any hostile moments or outbursts. I need additional info because I want to be able to understand this disorder not only for myself and my daughter, but for him as well. His family doesn't know too much about this disorder either, so any helpful information would be great.

You should watch the America's Top Model season a couple, three years ago, where one of the finalists had Asperger's.  You can go to that TV show's website and find the year it was, maybe even perhaps get the video from them, and replays of various seasons in total are played often on TV.  ANYhow, the young lady was absolutely beautiful, had a softness about her, and was perfectly capable of doing stuff as you and me.  She had extremely minor difficulties, mainly it was a communication sort of thing, so she was a quiet person.  I liked her a lot, which I imagine you know what I mean, just so sweet, you know.  In addition, you could of course check out the various Asberger organizations' websites online, they'll tell you fifty million things, which Asberger's IS a high-functioning autism, not two different things, from my understanding.  Oh, and as far as hostility, no way.  You can put that part out of your mind.
