"Mommy my head is shaking!"

My almost 4 yr old has told me several times during the past year out of the blue, " Mommy, my head is shaking!" When I look at her I see no movement at all, but she complains that it feels bad. It only lasts a few seconds and then goes away and she carries on normally. She is a very healthy kid, so this kind of concerns me. Today it happened when she was sitting down painting. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? I don`t know if I am making a bid deal of this for nothing or if I should be going to a neurologist. She just had a physical check up with the family doc in December and all was well.
I would appreciate any kind of feedback. Thanks!

One of the possibilities could be she has fluid behind her eardrum. Only tubes can relieve that if it is the case. My son when he was 5 kept telling me the room was spinning when he would just barely move his head. It could be when you had her in for her check up she didn't have enough or any signs of infection for her pediatrician to worry about it.

My suggestion would be to take her to see her pediatrician again and let them know she has these spells. They will look at her ears more closely and probably send you to an ear, nose and throat dr to find out if she needs tubes to drain the fluid off of her eardrum and surrounding areas!

I wouldn't shoot straight to the neurologist because with children it is more likely their ears. Unless she has blank stares or seizures where she jerks then I would take her in asap. Other than that try the pediatrician and then see if they refer you to the ENT dr for her. Good luck!!!  :)
