Mother of a Headache!

Mother of a Headache!

I have a headache that occurred a week ago, went away and is now back.  Previously it felt like someone was taking a knife and stabbing me in the head on both sides of my skull, almost at the top of my head.  A couple of days after that I became ill with some kind of flu which had me in bed for about a day.  I'm still coughing (dry-nonproductive) and will occassionally have to blow my nose a week later and now the headache has also returned but this time it's only on the left side of my head.  When the pain comes it causes me to grimace and sometimes it feels as though something is leaking underneath my scalp (of course, nothing is, just feels that way).  There's still no fever or vomiting, although at times I will feel nauseous.  Should I see a doctor for this?

Hi,
By all means you should consult the GP at once.Headaches can be caused by many many reasons,it can be due a trivial cause like constipation to a more serious cause like a brain tumor.Let me not scare you by saying this, all I wanted to say is that, diagnose the underlying problem as early as possible and treat it .Early detection and treatment will help in getting rid of the diesease.
By your symptoms I suspect an ENT cause behind your headache,it can be due to sinusitis.Consult an ENT surgeon at the earliest. He will guide you in the right direction to diagnose and treat your problem.
Goodluck.
