I just  had transforaminal lumber disc surgery. Because I am on Medicaid they hurried me out, no physical therapy, no medicine. I have no one to take care of me. I cannot bend, clean myself or anything we all take for granted. I can only eat what is ready without preparing. Please advice, I do not want to die in my apartment filthy and alone. There must be some help.

Well, without knowing the relevant clinical details or a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to comment specifically on the situation. I would suggest resting for a few days along with anti-inflammatory medications/ pain killers, if prescribed by your treating doctor. This may be followed by physiotherapy a few (2-4) weeks later to strengthen the back muscles. Meanwhile it is advisable to avoid heavy work. Warm compresses may also be helpful in providing symptomatic relief.
