Multiple sclerosis lesions and MRI
Hello, I'd like to ask those familiar with MS lesions how fast can a lesion form, if a MRI was done 3 months ago is it safe to assume that no lesions can form that fast? I've been told by docs that they do MRI's 8 months apart or so, so im taking a lesion can't form so fast?

Hi there!

Though lesions can occur in 3 months; in the absence of symptoms and a previous clear MRI, these are most likely to be mild and a safer interval to repeat the MRI would be around 6-12 months.
Hope the information is helpful.

Take care!
