Multiple strokes

Multiple strokes

My father is 78 years old. He had his first stroke 6 years ago, residual right sided weakness, decreased sensation, and hemianopsia. 6 days ago he was found unresposive in his nursing home room with very low blood pressure. MRI showed "huge" left parietal stroke, smaller left cerebellar stroke, and smaller left frontal lobe stroke. He had moderate to severe expressive aphasia but it has drastically improved in the past 2 days. He is now DNR. My question is, with having multiple strokes how does this now affect how much more time he has before having more strokes? How does this affect his mortality? Could he still live awhile or are there statistics that show he will only have a limited amount of time? He is taking blood thinners, has been for 6 years.
