Muscle Weakness

3 months ago I as hospitalized due to an upper respiratory and gastrointestine infection.  After a few days I began to experience headaches, blurry vision, muscle weakness and pain, slow speech, among some other symptoms.  Along the way I've begun to feel a slow recovery athough
I still experience muscle weakness and pain, causing me to slide I as walk.  The doctors say it is a viral myopathy but I can't explain why I keep feeling the way I do.  I addition, I got done an MRI with normal results, an alterred sed rate and c-protein, and a normal ekg. The lumber spine xray found that the apophyseal joints at level L4-L5 have a prominent decrease in the articular space.  Can you PLEASE advise me of what can I do to feel better and if the xray findings hold a relation to what I'm feeling.  Thanks

Hi,
How are you feeling now?
Decrease in articular space at L4-L5 will result in loss of sensation over the area of distribution of nerve originating from L4-L5. If there is nerve injury causing this symptoms then it might explain your symptoms of sliding while walking.
I think you should consult neurologist and do a NCV test to rule out whether it is neuropathy or myopathy.
Hope this helps.
Bye.
