Muscle atrophy question

by valger59, Apr 05, 2007 12:00AM
Hi~~
First of all, thank you so much for the help I get on here.  These boards make me feel so much better.
Just to update quickly, I've been having widespread body twitches for about two weeks now.  I hadn't noticed any other symptoms, other than maybe some weakness AFTER I had read about the connection between that and ALS.  Generally, I can do anything that I used to be able to do.  The thing I was wondering about was muscle atrophy.  I happened to notice tonight when I was laying on the bed that right above my right ankle up about an inch or so looks like an indent in my skin.  This scared me, because I had never noticed that before.  My other leg seems to have something generally similar, but not as bad.  Am I just looking for things, or does this sound like muscle atrophy?  I don't know if it's always been there or what.  Now, I am really in a panic tonight, this has me worried, because I thought before I just had BFS, and now if this is muscle atrophy, that would be bad, right?  Are some indents normal around the leg/ankle area?  Would it be unusual to atrophy on the other leg in the same place, or does it usually atrophy in a symetrical way?  Thanks so much for any help!  Val
