After two root canals, I developed muscle spasms that eventually resolve with a couple of weeks of soft diet and Flexeril. However, I noticed that my temples have shrunken in (atrophy) as I had a fuller rounder face before with bulginf temporalis muscles. My masseter muscles seemed to have also atrophy. My face before was more full and squared. Now, it is shrunken in and is a long square. This all occurred in December 08.
Is this facial atrophy permanent or will it reversed when I pick up chewing again? Also, did the muscle spasms contribute to muscle atrophy? I am also experiencing ear symptoms (crackling/popping noises when I yawn/chew/eat). I also have ringing in the ears. More importantly, I wanted to know if the atrophy is reversible.
