My 16 month old son Fell and fractured his skull 7 days ago

My 16 month old son Fell and fractured his skull 7 days ago. A CT was done and the found He has a 4 cm vertical skull fracture over the left frontal parietal region extending to the sagittal suture Also Query Contrecoup small right temporal parietal contusion. In the last two days i have noticed that the left pupil is larger than the right one. I took him back to emergency and followed up with Ophthalmology and they where unsure why this would happen and suggested maybe it has been there the whole time.I find this highly unlikely in the several days after his head injury his eyes where being checked every 4 hours and Ophthalmology noted that the 2 pupils where the same size 5 days ago when he was in the hospital. I called the neurosurgeon and he said that one pupil larger than the other does not signal a problem. So what does it mean i was under the impression that after a head injury this could be signal inter cranial pressure.

Hi,
A fracture in the skull presents with blood or clear fluid leaking from nose or ears, unequal pupil size, bruises or discoloration around the eyes or behind the ears, and swelling or depression of the part of the head. Unequal pupil size could also signify bleeding in the brain due to head injury. Symptoms of bleeding within the skull include: nausea and vomiting, headache, loss of consciousness, unequal pupil size, and lethargy. Please go for MRI of the brain and go for a second opinion to find out if there is a bleeding in the brain. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
