It is possible that what your child is experiencing is sleep paralysisCerebral palsy Facial paralysis Isolated sleep paralysis Laryngeal nerve damage Muscle function loss Parkinson’s disease Poliomyelitis as a result of nightmares. However these could also be complex partial seizures. It is difficult to tell anything for sure without a clinical examination and tests like MRI of brain and EEG. Overnight sleep study with EEG will also help.
