My mum has parkinsons

My mum has parkinsons

Hello,
Over the past 2 years my mum who is 64yrs old started to have slight tremours and then her walk became slow, hanging arms and not picking her feet up well. She is now on medication for parkinsons which is helping alot, she walks well and the tremours are alot better. My mum has suffered alot as her house also burnt down a month ago. She is really doing well and im so proud of her, she has a great husband who is very supportive. My mums older brother also has parkinsons and thier father (my grandad) died of dimentia (dementia). Has this any relation to parkinsons, can this be quite normal for brother, sister and father to suffer like this. Also is it possible to have a near to normal life with Parkinsons as my mum is responding well to her medication.
Thank you.
