Thank you for the reply, but does my son needs to have a surgery, as my previuos email he has no symptoms at all he is very smart and very active.
But then again out of 10 drs. I've met 6 of them told me my son does not need a surgery and the rest told me he has to have surgery, so I am very confused if I I send the MRI plates via email can you see if surgery is needed?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. I think the surgeon is recommending excision due to the large size of the cyst, and possibility of pressure symptoms sooner or later inherent to its size. Otherwise it is not recommended to excise arachnoid cysts that are asymptomatic and incidental MRI findings. Newer techniques have been studied in patients  to maintain the physiological pathway of the cerebrospinal fluid without a shunt and is considered to have shown good outcome without complications. Talk to your neurosurgeon about your apprehensions, he is the best guide to the surgical outcome and possibilities. Take care.
