Neck, lower back, groin and knee pain

by Detho4, Jul 20, 2007 02:34PM
Doctor,

For the last two years (beginning labour day 2005) I have experienced major pain beginning in my left foot. My foot was swollen to twice it's size and unbearable to the touch (let alone trying to walk on it). This pain and swelling lasted 4 months when the the pain and swelling moved to my left knee. I finally recieved a knee scope in which the swelling in the knee and foot went away and I began feeling near 100%. In the interim, I received a CT scan, nerve test, MRI, bone scan and ultra sound. All came back negative. My doctor's were unable to figure our what was wrong (they labelled me a medical mystery). As of January 2007, I have experienced intermittent pain in my neck, lower back, groin and knee cap. The pain moves from one spot to another, lasting a few weeks at a time. Then I would feel fine for a week and the pain would begin again (usually in a different place). Currently (and always the worst of the pain) I am experiencing excrutiating pain in my groin area. I can't stand up straight without groin pain, I can't lay down without groin pain and when I try to lift my left leg to walk or get in my car, it feels like my leg is tearing away from my body. I haven't done anything to pull the muscle, the pain just comes on one day gets progesssively worse for two days, reaches it's climax (which is unbearable) and then subsides in another three or four days. Anit-inflammatory medication does not work. Any ideas as to what this intermittent pain would be???
