Neck &

by BrandiBaby, Oct 16, 2007 11:13AM
I had surgery on my right shoulder July 3rd 07. (decompression Surgery, aftering falling with a 5 gallon bucket full of salt I was carring with my right hand at work, in Dec. of 2006.) I was told surgery would help seeing that everything else hadn't worked and things were only getting worse. I had also mentioned that my neck and right shoulder blade was hurting, as well as the top and side of the shoulder. I was told that it was radiating pain from the shoulder injury. Well after surgery and weeks of PT  the shoulder doesn't reach around to my back without a great deal of pain, and the should still makes clicking sounds and feels as thought it's stuck, and the pain isn't much better then before surgery. There's now alot of pain that travels down my arm into my hand, and once in awhile my fingers tingle, as does the right side of my face. I also get a aching tight pain into my right underarm pit and what feels to be under my right breast. The pain in the neck never really goes away. The pain in my neck goes up into the back right side of my head, and face, and sometimes feels like a burning spot in the lower right side of the head. I have aslo been getting alot of pain in my right shoulder blade along the spine side and callor bone. All of this is going on not to mention the lack of sleep, for the pain wakes me at least three to four times a night. I have been given pain meds. but really don't like them for they make me really ill to the piont that the bathroom becomes my bestest friend or where I have to stay in bed and not move so that I can stay out of the bathroom. So, as thing sit I deal with the pain....even thought somedays I just can't. I'm really starting to feel the toll it's taking on my body. I just don't know what to do now. I can say that at times the tins unit that the PT would put on covered by a large ice pack helped with the pain a lot more then those nasty drugs do at times. I have even mentioned that to the doctor he didn't say anything. So what that means I'm not sure. I'm just hoping someone has some answers about how long this can last, or if there is anything I could be doing that I'm not or haven't already tired.
Thank you
for your time.

To: Anyone with an answer
I've been waiting about three weeks now for a MRI on my neck. I've called the doctors office twice now only to have my calls not answered. I'm becoming very upset and the pain is becoming more then I can handle. I haven't been able to sleep in five days. I've even tried sleeping with a heating pad. I have even been taking the pain meds, but they don't seem to help much with the pain, but they sure do make me sick. I have even had to call into sick yesterday and today...due to the fact that the pain meds leave me feeling hung over and with little to no sleep I'm becoming very light headed. I just don't know what else to do. Nothing seems to help.
Please anyone with a small clue...do share.
Thank You
Brandi
