Neck Pain

by deo357, Mar 21, 2009 01:44PM
Back in 1989 I had C5, c6, c7 anterior cervical laminectomy as result of working out with weights doing shoulder presses.  Back then I had severe pain turning my neck, pain from neck down my shoulder to arm and hand with tingling numbness but with little relief,  I saw doctor immediately and started with conservative tx then pt but nothing helped.  Finally found a NS and Orth surgeon.  Surgery went fine and pain went away.  The pain came back a few years afterward but I decided to live with it.  But, now as of last May 2008, my neck pain has come back, shooting pains from neck to shoulder to arm and hands with either moving or at working at computer or walking or sleeping nearly much of the time.  Except this time I have the pain on my left and right sides.  When I needed surgery years ago, I only had cervical radiculapathy on my left side.  Now I have it on both sides and my arms feel like they are burning, numb, and much of the time I am rubbing my forearm and inside of my thumb areas.  I have tried to go through this without having to go through surgery again but I need relief and help.  I did have MRI and it shows three bulges but now I have bulges above and below the fusion.  Not sure what it means now having both the left and right side really hurting.  I feel I am always like having hands and arms either burning or like I sticking my hands / arms into an electrical outlet like my arms and hands are in continuous electrocution?  I know that sounds crazy but anyone has help I would appreciate it.  Thank you so much.
