Neck pain with numbness

I woke up 2 months ago wit neck pain. Over the course of a few days it got worse It was on the right side of my neck and into my right shoulder. I initially went to a chiropractor and my regular dr. They gave me muscle relaxors and pain meds. For the next couple of weeks the pain got better but I developed numbnes in the back of my neck alson with hypersensitivity and an incredible itch feeling in the same area. From there I started noticing at times the inside of my right thumb( same side as neck pain) had decreased feeling in it at times.  I eventually went to an othopedic. He had me start at home traction and sent me for an mri. MRI showed small disc herniation at C6-7,  Varyig degrees of uncoverebral hypertrophic changes with some mild foraminal narrowing. Most notable at  C4-5 and C5-6 and small right-sided disc bulge or broad based disc herniation at C3-4 level wih some right sided foraminal narrowing. the ortho wants me to continue with home traction for another month and see what happens then. He believe some of my hand issues is from carpal tunnel but I've never had these issues before this neck pain started.I now have notice if I stretch my right arm down towards the floor my hand starts going numb.  Looking for anyones thoughts,  ideas and advise on this.  Sorry its so long. I appreciate any help
