Need help explaining results of my "MRI CERVICAL SPINE."

I was in a serious car accident on 08/28/2011.  I was traveling about 50 mph.  The vehicle that stuck me in the rear end on the drivers side was traveling about 85 - 90  or more mph.  I saw the accident coming.  

What I am most concered about is my MRI report says:  "C6 - C7:  There is a central and bilateral disk herniation with annular tear and bilateral uncovertebral joint degeneration resulting in severe compromise of the spinal canal and mild right and no significant left foraminal stenosis."  How serious is this?  Is surgery advised?  I am having tingling in my arms, neck and head.  I am having balance, vision, memory, and nausea issues.  I am very fatigued.  Not sleeping well.  Wake up un-rested.  When I have a bout of "vertigo", I also feel like my body temp. is rising fast.  The sensation is one of everything resting on the head of a pin and out of balance (seated in a room, looking at the door, and it seems like I would have to walk up hill to reach the door."  I am also having issues with pain.
