Need recommendation

I had a cranitomy in March 2011.  I fell down stairs last week, and I amhaving more headaches, sleeping more, and my incision has all healed, but seems to be wider where the screws are.  I did not go to the hospital because I go for surgery on May 12, 2011 for another aneurysm to be clipped on the other side, left.  I had two aneurysms.  Also I do get the odd pain in the head.  Thank you for your help on this matter.

Hi there. You needed to go to the hospital emergency as soon as you fell down. You have been clipped for cerebral aneurysms and have one more to be clipped. There is a possibility of aneurysm rupture secondary to the fall, which could be causing headaches and excessive sleepiness. I would suggest you report to the emergency department immediately without waiting for 12th may. There might be a hemorrhage which if goes missing can enlarge and cause focal neurological deficits and would require immediate clipping. Hope this helps. Take care.

You should have gone to the hospital after you fell again regardless of the fact you are scheduled for more surgery. The space where a skull section was removed will eventually fill with good bone. You are fortunate in that they have identified the sites for potential aneurysms. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your informtion!  I just didn't bother going because I was not bleeding or anything.  You see the hospital here in Fort McMurray does not have a neosurgeon, my neosurgeon is a five hour drive.  I am a bit concerened before my surgery on Thursday, next week.  Dr. are you saying that maybe the clip has fallen off from my right clipped aneurysm, which was done in Feb. 2011.  I did also notice a little blood in my right ear, not bad just a little on a q-tip.  I appreciate your email so much, because it is a long drive to Edmonton and finacially I find it hard, Thanks again, and God Bless
