Can nerve biopsy confirm ms ?

Hi there .the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis requires a clinical examination and considering all other possibilities since this is a diagnosis of exclusion. Certain clinical examination like MRI head is done to look for any evidence of demyelination , usually seen as plaques in the white matter of the brain, cerebrospinal fluid examination shows oligoclonal bands, cells and proteins in the csf.  Electrophysiological testing is also done. Nerve biopsy can reveal demyelinating lesions. You need to discuss with your neurologist if this is required. Take care.
