So, what do I do from here? My endodontist basically said to wait and see if it heals, and has advised me that there is a chance it will never heal. But I want to do all that I can to encourage it's return. Where do I go first? With whom should I be consulting this? I don't know where to turn, but I am unhappy with this outcome. What kind of questions should I ask? What sort of doctor do I need? Is there hope for the return of my vocal ability?
I forgot to mention... I don't think I am creating saliva on that side. Either that or my feelingless tongue is being interpreted by my brain as being dry all the time. Obviously my tongue is being interpreted incorrectly somewhere along the line since I can touch my tongue and feel nothing, but it always feels in my mind like my tongue is on fire and dry on one side. I'm dry-mouthed and thirsty at all times since my surgery. I am a life long desert dweller and well versed in dehydration. I drink over a gallon of water a day and never "feel wet" in there anymore on my right side. Just cotton mouthy.
