Nerve damage in arm lack of B12

Recently my father has experienced lack of strength in his left hand.  He was told the nerves in his arms are damaged which has resulted in loss of function to his hand.  They just did some blood work and he was told he has a b12 deficiency.

He is going to get b12 shot for his deficiency.  My question is will the damage nerves be fixed as a result of the b12 shots?

Can damage nerves be repaired?

Thanks

Hi,
Vit. B12 promotes the growth and repair of most calls particularly the nerve cells. It maintains the myelin sheath of the nerve and thereby speeds up neurotransmission. Eggs, beef, liver are rich sources of B12.

Hi,
How is your father doing now?
Yes, what he is experiencing is peripheral neuropathy, which can be sorted out with help of VitB12 shots.
Yes damage nerves can be repaired as long as these nerves are outside spinal canal. Nerves inside spinal canal can never be repaired.
Usually they will regrow at the rate of 1mm/day.
Hope this helps.
Bye.
