Nerve damage

Nerve damage

2 years ago I had a bleed in my spinal cord from a cavernoma which temporarily paralysed me from the waist down.  Since then I have learned to walk again but am not back to full mobility.  The bleed has left me with some numbness in my legs and a considerable amount of pain.  I get sharp stabbing pains in my feet, an angy pins and needles sensation over my legs and awful muscle spasms/cramps.  The cramps are extremely bad at the moment and I wanted to know what is causing them and what advice you had to reduce these symptoms.  I also wondered if the nerves that were damaged might still be repairing after all this time?
Many thanks
Kay

Hi,

Pins and needles sensation and muscle cramps are a sign of neuropathy or nerve damage. Depending on the extent of injury the nerves can take a long time to recover.

This requires further evaluation. I would suggest you to apply alternate heat and ice packs on the affected muscles and take B complex supplements and schedule an appointment with your treating doctor.
