Nerve growth factor production

Nerve growth factor production

I am Sabeetha . My niece Niranjana was a very much normal kid until her 9th age. After that gradually she lost the power to walk. Diagnosis says her body stopped producing NERVER GROWTH FACTOR cells from her 9th age.We met with many doctors in India and they said there is no treatment for this in India. She is 16 years old now. Very intelligent girl, her thinking, speech are very normal.Only thing is she is not able to walk and can not hold things in hand.Doctors comparing this problem with cancer since it has no treatment. Some doctors say the treatment is available in foreign countries like south Koria.Pls let me know if there is treatment available in any place in world.

hello sabeetha,
Nerve Growth Factor = This is a type of protein which is helpfull for survival and differentiation of sensory and sympathetic neurons.
Due to absence of this protein the neurons die off.
I am sorry , but it's  a good idea to go to US for treatment. one center i know which was doing some study in NGF deficiency in US. the address is Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri. you can contact this university and get more details. It's available on the internet.
If i come across more information i will post it here.

We would be happy if you could keep us informed also from your side,
regards
abhijeet
