Nerve healing

I was struck with tranverse myelits in March of 2008.  The covering of my nerves have been pulled away.  Does the nerves regenerate and how long.  Would are some of the feeling I get when they are regenerated.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Nerve regeneration will depend on the location of nerve injury. Peripheral nerves have the ability to regenerate with time. It may take 6-24months. If the nerve sheath is disrupted, disorganized nerve sprouts may occur. This can create a condition called neuropathic pain, which may be felt as burning, tingling, buzzing, etc, sensations.
