Nerve sensation in penis, left foot and left hand

Hi,

I am a 35 year old male in good health

3 weeks ago I developed a nerve sensation in my penis which would come and go, for periods of between 1 and 9 hours.  I also had faint nerve tingling in my left hand and foot.  The penis sensation would often start after walking.  I was prescribed doxycycline for 10 days.    I was refered to an urologist who had not come across the symptom before.  He advised due to the other nerve sensations to see a neurologist.  After 2 weeks the nerve sensation in my penis disappeared (for 7 days), however the hands and feet worse. I have now concluded the doxycycline.  I still have the pins and needles sensation in left hand and foot ( including calf). And now 2 days later the nerve sensation in my penis has returned.  Please can anyone help as this is really getting me down.  I was so relieved when the penis sensation subsided and now feel I am back to square 1

Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include infections, inflammations, vascular issues, neurological causes such as neuropathies, nerve root irritation, hormonal/ endocrine abnormalities etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an internist initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
