Neuralgia, Neuritis, and Radiculitis

SO AFTER 5 YEARS OF CHRONIC BACK PAIN AND 2 CENTRAL DISC HERNIATION AT L5-L4 AND L3-L4 I NOW HAVE NUMBNESS  IN MY LEFT LEG NOW SINCE 11-26-09 AND HAVE FELL TWICE THE DOCTOR DID TEST AND SAID I HAVE Neuralgia, Neuritis, and Radiculitis WHAT IS THAT AND WILL IT EVER GO AWAY MY PRIMARY DOCTOR IS SENDING ME TO A PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR AND I'M REALLY WORRIED OF WHATS NEXT  I'M ONLY 32  150LBS 5'6 MALE

Thank you for your question. Neuralgia is nerve related pain that may occur due to inflammation of nerves (neuritis) or any nerve compressions after disc herniation (radiculopathy) that can also cause radiation to leg.  Since you are suffering from pain and radiation in one leg your doctor would want to examine you and order investigations like MRI to understand extent of the disease. Pain killer, steroid injection, surgery and physiotherapy are main modality of treatments. Hope this helps.

Thank you I have the same thing going on with me, my Doctor gave me Amitriptylines 10 mg I spoke to her today and ask her if I can take more like two pills at night ! She said yes and that she going to change it to 25 mg > I hope this pills dont mess with my mood. I know the pain can get back i cant stand to long but i can do yoga and do workout classes three timeweek at the gym but i stop moveing the pain come back again. neuralgia, neuritis, Pain, leg pain, chronic, numbness.
