Neurological issues?

I started having these very strange sensations in my head about 3 years ago. They happen suddenly, and beging in my forehead then travel through my head like a wave. It feels a bit like an electrical current, it lasts no more than a second and while not painful, they are very unpleasent. They've gradually becomemore frequent. In the three years since first experiencing this, I've also started having complex visual hahallucinations but only at night. I'm aware that what I'm seeing isn't real but it's still frightening.
