Neurological problem? Tingling scalp. help?

I had unprotected sex with a sexually active male (I found out later) 3 1/2 weeks ago. (I have been married for a very long time and this is the only exposure other than my faithful husband).  Within several days of the event, I had flu-like symptoms - night sweats, swollen glands, low grade fevers, facial tingling/numbness, fatigue.  This lasted for about a 10 days.  I have had 4 negative HIV tests (2 NAAT and PCR and antigen).  I have been told these are conclusive - especially NAAT.  I was treated for gonorrhea and chlamydia within 10 days of exposure with rocefin shot and 2 grams of azithro (at the same time I might add).  I was also supposed to use metrozindole vaginal cream (the same night), but used it once and woke up with excruciating pain in esophagus so I discontinued. (never had heartburn in my life and still struggling with the pain in my esophagus.) Not sure if that is from all the of antibiotics within 24 hours or that I drank alcohol with it.

26 days after exposure I now have a white thick vaginal discharge (no visible sores or itching).  I have had pelvic pain from a couple days after exposure.  I'm struggling with neuropathy (facial numbness/tingling/flushing), brain fog, scalp tightness/tingling, buzzing/ringing in ears (full feeling and hot inside/won't pop but feel as if they need to).

Background - I am healthy and go to the gym 3-5 times a week.  I do yoga, pilates, total fit classes, cardio.  I have a physical every year - my only issue is hypothyroidism which I take 60mg of synthroid daily.  I am VERY healthy 40+ year old  (125 pounds)

I am worried about viral meningitis or some neurological problem, but I've only had one bad headache one night this week and a 3-week low grade fever.  The headache was solved with two Excedrin migraine.

I really don't know what to think. How could this all happen two days after a sexual encounter?  And not go away after almost 4 weeks!  I do feel that I made things worse when I took three different strong antibiotics within a 24 hour period.  Was this harmful?  Did this make my neurological symptoms worse/permanent?  Or do I possibly have herpes and it is causing these issues?  Viral meningitis has to have fever and headaches, right?

Just started Dexilant 60 mg and 25 mg zoloft.  Zoloft just making me have terrible night sweats and anxiety attacks when I wake up 5 times a night!  Help!!!

Thank you for the response.  I think that you are right.  I had no idea that the brain could create these physical symptoms!  I was just about ready to resign myself to the anxiety diagnosis when I started getting these very sharp (like electric shocks) in my pelvic region and butt.  I'm also a bit irritated feeling down there right now.  I was taking 2000 mg of Valtrex a day (for 4 days) because I was so worried about a virus (maybe Shingles).  I had it in my medicine cabinet from my daughter that had one cold sore outbreak.  I've lowered it to 1000 yesterday per my doctor who didn't like the high dosage with no confirmed diagnosis.  Well, today, everything is heating up down there.  Lots of weird sensations.  Hope this too passes and is just "anxiety".  I had a .05 hsv1 and .06 hsv2 test last week, but that wasn't even 4 weeks after the exposure so I'm not putting a ton of weight on these test results.  Does anyone know if this really good to have such low numbers at that point?  Or if it means anything at all??  I've been on Valtrex (but wasn't on it when the test was done) so I hear that I need to wait now to get tested again.  How long do I have to wait if I only took 6 days?  Boy has the ringing in my ears geared up as well today . .. oh well . . .

I had all of these symptoms after a very stressful incident a couple of years ago. I can relate to every single one of your symptoms. I had numerous rushed visits to the emergency room as well as MRI, CT of brain/spine (they suspected Multiple Sclerosis. Turns out it was all severe anxiety. Sounds crazy but it was all psychological because of what I had been through. I went on valium and antidepressants as well as cognitive behavioural therapy and slowly the symptoms disappeared. I still get them come up every so often when I am going through worrying times or stressful situations, but because I know what it is I just carry on and when I am calmer they fade away again. The mind is a very powerful thing and I suspect you are feeling guilty, stressed, worried etc so much that, like me, your nerves are reacting to such high levels of cortisol in your bloodstream, and causing all these 'neurological' type symptoms. I also suffer from Basilar Migraines which are exacerbated by stress and these can cause these symptoms along with many, many more strange sensory type feelings. If you have had a clear CT and your bloodwork is good, then I wouldn't fret.. but do see your doctor to rule out anything just to be 100% sure..and maybe have a chat and see if they think you may be suffering from anxiety disorder. Take care

I woke up today with a horrible numb/tingling head and a lot of confusion.  I couldn't function until I took a 1000 mg Valtrex . . . . strange . . . .

I'm self-medicating at 2000 mg a day until someone can help me.  Should I go to the emergency room to check on CMV or zosters or meningitis.  I haven't had but a low grade fever.  my head won't stop buzzing and I can't leave the house.  please help

Oh, and CT scan this week was normal, but I still worry about the different viruses that are associated with herpes and could be causing my nerve/head issues.
