I am happy to address the questions that you pose, although it is important that you recognize that my impression is based entirely on the information you have provided in your posting and is by no means a substitute for an office visit with a neurologist. Diagnosis is contingent on detailed history and physical exam and as such, the following information should be considered solely for educational purposes.
Your symptoms remain non-specific and it is really hard to pin point a specific disease process that can cause such symptoms, especially with the normal physical exam and the unremarkable workup you had done so far.
if you still have the symptoms persistant I believe it is a good idea to re-evaluate you by obtaining a detailed medical history and perform a thorough physical and neurological examination. Then may be repeating some testing to make sure nothing was missed with the first round of testing. primary concerns are muscle and nerve diseases. if everything turns out to be negative again then an evaluation by a rheumatologist is reasonable. another thought to consider is the stress factor, sometimes exessive stress (that can be sometimes difficult to pick up by the patient himself) can cause a variety of physical symptoms, including the ones you mentioned. I beileve addressing this issue can be helpful as well.
Good luck, I hope you find some answers soon.
I am a 35 year old female and I also have the same sensations for about 3 years. My problems started about 4 mouths after I was hit by a car. I see my neurologist every three mouths. I have had EMGs, MRI of Brain w and w/o contract, and blood work. All fine but B12 on the low side. MS ruled out. About two mouths ago, my neurologist told me that I have Fybriomyalgia (spelling ?). The most frustrating thing is that I can feel fine for weeks and sudden the sensations start up again. For me the burning sensations are the worst. You are not alone out there. Hang in!!!!
After reading so many posts on this site about Lyme disease, I think that too. My neurologist said that they can see effects of Lyme disease on an MRI. Is this true?
you should be checked for Lyme disease. also, if you take any medications - make sure you know their side effects. this doesn't sound like MS but your doctor should be able to determine that. rheumatology is not a bad idea but this doesn't sound like a rheumatological problem either... have you been checked for diabetes?
go see a chiropractor first. I have a severe back injury and a good chiropractor saved me years of suffereing.
If you want some temporary relief with medication, get "nortriptolene". It deals with nerve damage pain and it works well.
Hi: I was wondering if you continue to have the symptoms you described. No one answered your post and I was hoping you'd hear from someone. You've had a lot of symptoms for nothing to be wrong. I too have a long list of symptoms and all my tests came back negative. It's not comforting when you know that something is wrong with you so I can empathize with you. What caught my eye was when you discussed your muscle fatigue. I have muscle fatigue, weakness and pain also. After a recent muscle biopsy it has been determined that I have a primary muscle disease of some sort. Further testing of the muscle tissue is being done to look for more information and a diagnosis. I hope to know soon what is going on with me. I wish you luck Lucy.
