Hello,
About one month ago I was getting my blood drawn in a neurologists' office. The very nervous girl put the needle in my arm, and I yelped loudly. I asked if her if she had what she needed. She said no. She put it in farther, and I yelped again. It was painful, and she did not get any blood. I told her to use the other arm. She did, and got the blood. Later that day my arm, and hand became numb. The next day I felt even more numbness in my arm, and hand (left side). The next day I also felt numbness on half of my body from head to toe (same side). I do have MS, but it is a very dormant disease for me. I let the office know about the numbness within the first week, and then again a few weeks later. Finally after a month I went to see them, and they put me on solumedrol, which I am on right now. I am not convinced it was an MS attack a few hours after the needle was put in the wrong, painful place in my arm, however I wouldn't think that would affect half my body either, would it? Currently I am experiencing loss of a bit of motor skills in that arm, I am weaker in that arm, and I have pain to the touch in that hand. Like raw skin or something. Also, I can barely write with that hand, or do things like zip my zipper. Can a doctor please let me know their thoughts on this?
Thank you,
Dave
